I would like to congratulate the newly admitted students of this great Institution on this great achievement has we all know how difficult it was before and during our respective race in being granted admission which is a laudable achievement on our parts. In this regard I feel it’s important for us to note some important guidelines about the Institution. Although these information’s are not complete, I feel we can start off with these:

DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS AT AFIT:

Unlike other universities, AFIT is an institution founded on the knowledge, methodology, ideas and the doctrine of the Air force, the discipline in this kind of institution is expected to be stern unlike other's universities in Nigeria which can be said to be civilian in nature. The students who go against the regulation of the school is expected to face the stern wrath of the law of the school, the civilian universities have their disciplinary committee though, but institution like AFIT, prospective students should be expecting an Air force setup and Air force punishment, As a prospective students of AFIT you should not be surprise if you find yourself in a guardroom while facing punishment.

DRESS CODE:

Prospective students should be aware that indecent dressing is not allowed in the University, such as sagging, crazy jeans, uncover clothes, bum short and so on, prospective students should also be mindful of their haircut or hairstyle, in addition skimpy dress will not be allowed for sure.

MOVEMENTS IN THE CAMPUS AND BARRACK

There is a freedom of movement though that is the basic human right, but at an institution like AFIT which is purely military settings, there are particular movements that are restricted, the hours and the place and the area to move to. The time of movement can only affect those students staying in the school campus, where after the light out, movement of any students will be restricted, unlike other universities where such don't happen. It is an academic area though, but there are certain area where it is out of bound for the students, it may be due to the logistic issues or technicality of the place which make such a place out of bound for the students, if such will happen, there is always a sign or note stands as a warning, like: keep off, militarized zone, out of bond etc. Even in ordinary institutions, students cannot just walk anyhow, because there arrangement in place, it maybe for beautification and decorations. Like in anywhere you may think of, crossing the lawn is not allowed, Students are not allowed to disrupt the beautiful settings of the nature (the natural environment).Also, company to be move with may also be defined, maybe you can only move in threes of fours. Furthermore, students will be restricted for sure when it comes to visiting the opposite sex, entering the female hostel by male students will be restricted and vice visa, unless the right protocol is taken in to place.
